Differentiators (what makes this site notable)

• Browser-only architecture. Most "free online tool" sites upload your data to a server. We don't have that infrastructure. Type in a calculator, paste a PDF, drop in a photo — none of it leaves your device. PDF tools self-host their workers from/pdfjs/; nothing is fetched from third-party CDNs.
• No signup wall, no soft paywall. Every tool, every guide. No "try 3 conversions free, then pay $9". No email-gated downloads. No "unlock with our newsletter".
• Honest verdicts in comparisons. We say "use bcrypt instead of our SHA htpasswd in production." We say "Adobe XD is in maintenance mode; pick Figma." We recommend paid tools (Cursor, 1Password, Stripe) when those are the right answer.
• Catalog scale. 790 tools is meaningfully more than the typical "100 free tools" listicle, while still being a curated set rather than a scraped directory.
• Daily ship cadence. The /whats-new page lists releases — usually multiple per week.

What we're not

We're not a SaaS. We're not an open-source project (yet). We're not venture-funded. We're not selling templates or premium courses behind the tools. This is a bet that browser-only tools at scale can self-sustain on light advertising and direct sponsorship without asking the user for anything beyond their attention.
