What we typically ship vs skip

We ship: calculators, converters, generators, and single-page utilities that solve one concrete problem and run entirely in the browser. Examples we shipped in the last month: recent waves include 8 web-infra glossary terms, 10 high-volume comparison pages, an HTML sitemap, PDF/GIF worker self-hosting.

We skip: anything that needs an API key (LLM chat UIs, image-generation wrappers, web scrapers), anything that duplicates an existing tool without a clear angle, and anything requiring a server backend (auth-walled apps, persistent collaboration). We're a static site — every tool runs in your browser or doesn't ship.

Already requested

A handful of things show up in suggestions repeatedly. The honest status:

• PDF→DOCX — repeatedly requested. The browser-native libraries for DOCX generation aren't great yet; this usually requires a server. Status: deferred.
• Image background remover — feasible with client-side ML (transformers.js), big bundle hit. Status: evaluating.
• Subnet / CIDR calculator — shipped! See the tool. CIDR or dotted-mask input, host range + mask + binary breakdown, RFC 3021 point-to-point semantics.
• Excel formula explainer — shipped! See the tool. Paste a formula, get a per-function plain-English breakdown for 60+ common functions. Builder version (English → formula) is the inverse problem and best handled by an LLM; not in our scope.
• Video compressor — feasible with FFmpeg.wasm but ships a 25 MB+ wasm bundle that's overkill for casual use. Status: evaluating; might split into a separate /heavy/ subdomain.
