What it does

A free online stopwatch with millisecond precision, lap splits, and start/pause/reset controls. Everything runs in your browser — no sign-up, no ads, no syncing. The tab can sit in the background and the count keeps going accurately.

Stopwatches are useful for workouts, interval training, cooking, speeches, and any “I want to know how long this took” situation. The lap button captures a split without stopping the clock — great for tracking each set in a workout or each segment of a multi-stage task.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record lap times?
Yes — click Lap to capture a split without stopping the overall timer. The lap list stays on screen until you Reset. Useful for timing sets at the gym, interview rounds, or cooking steps.
Does the stopwatch keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. Like most in-browser timers here, the stopwatch uses timestamps rather than interval ticks, so it's accurate across tab switches, locks, and sleep. The displayed numbers update when you return to the tab.
What's the maximum time it can track?
Up to 24 hours with millisecond precision. Past that the display scrolls but the underlying count remains accurate — we just haven't made it look pretty for multi-day use.
