Validation is purely structural — passing the mod-97 check proves the IBAN was well-formed when issued, but doesn't prove the account is active or that funds can actually be sent. Only the receiving bank knows that.

What it does
Validate an IBAN (International Bank Account Number) using the ISO 7064 mod-97 checksum. Pure client-side — the math is 15 lines, no API call, your account number never leaves the browser.
Checks country-code, expected length per the IBAN registry (~80 countries), and the mod-97 check digit. Note: passing this proves the IBAN is well-formed, not that the account is active.
