What it does

Add page numbers to any PDF without re-typesetting it in Word or InDesign. Pick one of six positions, a font size, a starting number, and a format (1, 2, 3, Page 1, Page 1 of N, or 1 / N). Skip the first page if it’s a cover. The numbering is added as a real PDF text layer — searchable, not a flattened bitmap.

For contracts that cite page numbers in clauses, books that print for binding, and multi-page sworn statements, the numbering matters more than people assume. More detail and conventions in the guide: How to add page numbers to a PDF.
